Action stations for Rathbone kids

A GROUP of young people were awash with fun to boost funds for their charity organisation.

They took part in car washes, a penalty shootout, face painting and other activities at the Rathbone centre in Brierley Street, Bury.

The group, for 11 to 19-year-olds, was hoping to put the event proceeds towards the building of a new kitchen.

Rathbone aims to provide opportunities for young people to transform their life-circumstances by re-engaging with learning, discovering their ability to succeed and achieving progression to further education, training and employment. The VW Beetle car in the picture belongs to Ged Linnane, the motor vehicle tutor at Rathbone where students had stripped, welded and done all the mechanical repairs to the vehicle.
