Gemma puts pictures in focus
11:20am Saturday 4th February 2012

BURY actress Gemma Atkinson returned to her home town to bring a new photographic challenge into focus.
The ex-Hollyoaks star has teamed up with the North West Year of Health and Wellbeing Partnership to launch the Life Through The Lens online competition.
The photo contest has been developed to highlight five simple actions to improve wellbeing: connect, be active, take notice, keep learning and give.
Scientific experts say incorporating these five ways into everyday life can help protect against mental health issues, which one in four will suffer at some point in their lives.
Gemma was photographed at Bury Town Hall for the launch with partner Liam Richardson from martial arts duo Strike, who starred on TV’s Britain’s Got Talent show.
She said: “Life Through The Lens is a great activity for people to be involved in. I am very conscious about health and wellbeing. I believe that the better that you feel on the inside and the more that you look after yourself, the better you look and feel on the outside.”
